Chamber Music

Chamber Music

I have always been attracted to Chamber Music.  I love the intimacy of musicians "playing off" each other.  We all acknowledge the importance of learning to play "in ensemble".  A great deal of literature is devoted to piano duets.  I would like to dedicate this page to music written for pianists playing "in ensemble" with band and orchestra instruments.  So much musicianship is to be developed learning to play "in ensemble".  I think these little ensemble pieces will help pianists get out of "solo mode" and help other young instrumentalists opportunity to play in a more intimate setting than a large group as a school band or orchestra.  Definitely a WIN-WIN!

Alouette

In my piano studio I encourage my students to play music together with their friends that play in their school bands and orchestras.  So, I’ve needed to arrange some music for them so they would have something to play.  Here’s an elementary arrangement of the popular French folk song Alouette.

Beethoven - Ecossaise

..... for C soprano instrument and piano
In my piano studio I encourage my students to play music together with their friends that play in their school bands and orchestras.  So, I’ve needed to arrange some music for them so they would have something to play.  An ecossaise is a lively energetic dance Scottish in origin mostly in 2/4 time often known for its quick dynamic contrasts.  If both performers project the musical features of an ecossaise, a good performance will result.

Goodnight Ladies
